David Greer has practiced law in Norfolk since 1984, starting with Hofheimer,
Nusbaum, McPhaul & Brenner, and remaining with that firm as it grew and eventually merged with Williams Mullen.
David opened this practice in June of 2008, and maintains a friendly professional relationship with his colleagues at
Williams Mullen. David is a Norfolk
native and third generation lawyer, and graduated from Norfolk Academy, Washington and Lee University (B.A. Journalism, cum
laude) and Marshall Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary. He is past president of the Tidewater
Bankruptcy Bar Association and the James Kent American Inn of Court, and past chair of the Consumer Bankruptcy Committee of
the ABA Section of Business Law. Currently, he is active with that committee and the ABA Ad Hoc Committee on Bankruptcy
and Insolvency Court Structure, and is on the board of the Virginia State Bar Bankruptcy Committee. David frequently speaks at programs about bankruptcy issues,
including those at the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, ABA Section of Business Law, Virginia Bar Real Property
section and Bankruptcy section, and local bar associations, and has written numerous articles and program materials in connection
with these engagements.
